Expelled by judgment

If you have been expelled from Denmark by judgment, you must leave the country, and the Danish Return Agency is responsible for handling your case.

The Danish Return Agency will take over responsibility for your return journey when a final judgment has been handed down by a Danish court.

Once the judgment is final, the police district dealing with your case will be responsible for transferring your case to the Danish Return Agency.

When the Danish Return Agency has received your return case, we will contact you – at a relevant time, which depends on the length of your sentence – and talk to you about what will happen next as regards your return journey.

The Danish Return Agency will assist you with your return journey when you have served your sentence if you are not entitled to stay in Denmark on another basis.

If you are in detention, the Danish Return Agency will assist you with the practical arrangements necessary for your departure from Denmark.

This may include assistance in contacting the relevant embassies as well as with planning and completing the actual return journey.
